iHateSpam: Outlook and Outlook Express Spam Filter!

Our iHateSpam Test: 

We used to use the junk email filters provided with Outlook, by adding our own custom keyword based filters we were able to filter 60-70% of the Spam we received. Even with that we wasted huge amounts of time sorting through our inbox every day.

We were skeptical when we tried iHateSpam (see below). Available via download installation was a quick process. It attached itself to our Outlook seamlessly. The only configuration required was when it created a "friends" list by scanning the folders we told it to, this way it creates a list of email addresses that you will ALWAYS receive email from. In under two minutes it was busy scanning and dumping Spam for us. We chose to have it passed into a Quarantine folder as opposed to being deleted so we could evaluate the effectiveness.

Thus far it has filtered 92.8% of the Spam we have received (Over 150/day)! The more time we spent using this software, the more impressed we are! The automatic updates make the filtering even more effective. Additional configuration is available, by adding a few personal rules we have increased its effectiveness to close to 98%! Note a few of the newsletters we subscribe to did initially get flagged as Spam but with a single click you can add them to your friends list.

A few more features we like is the ability to bounce messages with a single click (telling the spammer the address is invalid thus reducing future spam), the ability to report someone to both their ISP and SpamAbuse.org again with a single click and finally with one more click the ability to notify the system that a message is or isn't spam in the case of an error. All of this makes for an easy to use, friendly spam filtering software program that really is a must have for all Outlook users..
